Ricard Aperitif is a classic French aperitif made in Marseille that tastes of fresh, crisp liquorice, accented with a blend of herbs, spices and botanicals locally sourced in Provence. Closer inspection of the flavour, however, yields something far more complex: a slightly salty, briny essence, obtained from the Mediterranean salt spray that the barrels are exposed to as part of the ageing process. Real top-drawer stuff that’s ideal as a sipper before meals to stimulate the appetite.
